It’s not automatically disqualifying, but standard card processors generally have their own fraud and legitimacy checks on merchants, which is a layer of scrutiny a cash-only or crypto-only checkout doesn’t have.
Secure connection basics
A checkout page should use a secure connection (the padlock icon, an https address). This is a baseline, not a strong signal of legitimacy on its own, but its absence on a page asking for payment details is a clear warning sign.
Order confirmation and communication
A checkout that provides a clear order confirmation, with an order number and expected dispatch information, is behaving like an established business process. A checkout that gives no confirmation at all, or vague “we’ll be in touch” messaging, is a weaker sign.
Returns and contact information
Checking whether contact information and a returns or issues policy are genuinely accessible from the checkout flow, not just buried somewhere else on the site, is worth doing before completing a first order with a new seller.

None of these checks alone determines legitimacy, but a checkout that handles all of them professionally is a reasonable positive signal to add to the documentation and shipping checks covered elsewhere.
